RECIPE of the Day - 6/20/2007


I have used baby food in quick breads, cookies and a few other things as well; you probably wouldn't think to use baby food, but it gives your recipes a wonderful texture and flavor. Try using sweet potato or squash baby food in a pumkin bread recipe, it's really yummy!



Carrot Bars

2 eggs
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar 3/4 c. oil
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 small jars carrot baby food

Frosting:
1/2 c. powdered sugar
3 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine ingredients and mix well. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes at 350o. Cool.
Frosting: Beat ingredients together till smooth and spread on cake.
