RECIPE of the Day - 3/08/2007

This is a really great bread pudding - very rich with the sweetened condensed milk. I like to use golden raisins, but you can use dark raisins if you like; it is still just as delicious!



GOLDEN BREAD PUDDING

3 c. soft white bread cubes (6-8 slices)
3 eggs
3 c. warm water
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
2 tbsp. melted butter
1/4 C. golden raisins
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place bread cubes in buttered 9 inch square baking pan.

In large bowl beat eggs; stir in remaining ingredients. Pour evenly over bread cubes completely moistening bread.

Bake 45 to 50 minutes. Cool. Serve warm or chilled.

Tip: For firmer pudding increase bread cubes to 4 cups. Enjoy!
