RECIPE of the Day - 5/05/2007


This is the best tomato soup I have ever tasted. We had this for dinner the night before last and it went very quickly. Serve with crusty bread and caesar salad.





Delicious Tomato Soup

4 C. cream or milk
3 (15 oz.) cans diced, sweet tomatoes, drained
1 T. sugar
1 stalk celery, sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic
4 t. flour
4 T. butter

Heat the cream or milk in dutch oven over low heat until it comes to a soft boil. Meanwhile, put the next 7 ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Add mixture to hot cream or milk and bring to a boil. Turn heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes or until thickened.

Serve hot.
Makes 4 hearty portions.
