Even More Skin Care Recipes

Soothing Cucumber Cream recipe
1 whole cucumber, unpeeled
1/2 ounce white paraffin
2 ounces sweet almond oil

Cut the cucumber into chunks and purée it in the food processor or blender. Strain the pulp through a strainer lined with cheesecloth. Melt the wax in a small bowl in the top of a glass or enamel double boiler over medium heat. As soon as the wax is melted, slowly add the oil, stirring gently. Add strained cucumber and blend thoroughly. Remove the pot from the heat and cover with a clean towel. Let the mixture cool very slowly to prevent crystals from forming in the wax. Stir mixture once or twice until cool. When the mixture is completely cool and smooth, store it in a tightly capped glass container in the refrigerator. It will keep for two months. To use, smooth a bit of cream every night around the tender skin of your face and neck.

Super Dry Skin Formula recipe
1 pint pure aloe gel
1 ounce (tube) zinc oxide paste
2 tablespoons sunflower oil
Few drops vitamin E oil

Whip ingredients together. Store in a container. Smooth over damp skin after a shower or bath.

Peach Tightening Mask recipe
1 ripe peach, peeled and pitted
1 egg white

Whip peach and egg white together in a blender until smooth. Gently pat the mixture all over the face. Relax for 30 minutes, then rinse off with cool water.

Rose Geranium Skin Freshener recipe
This restores the acid layer that helps protect against bacteria.

1/4 cup white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon rose geranium oil

Mix all ingredients. Keep in a clean glass bottle with a tight-fitting lid. Apply over face and throat with a clean cotton pad.

Witch Hazel and Rosewater Tonic recipe
2 parts rosewater
1 part witch hazel

Mix ingredients together. Because witch hazel is a drying agent, adjust these proportions to make a mixture best suited to your own skin.

Rose Water recipe
1 cup rose petals
1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
1 1/2 cups water

Simmer rose petals in water for 10 minutes. Strain. Preserve with alcohol or just refrigerate without preserving. Store up to 1 week in the refrigerator.

Papaya Anti-Wrinkle Facial recipe
2 tablespoons mashed ripe papaya
1 teaspoon aloe vera gel

Mix together the papaya and aloe vera gel to make a smooth paste. Apply to your clean face and neck and let sit for 5 minutes. Rinse with cool water.

This formula can be drying if it is left on for longer then 5 minutes. The natural fruit acid and enzymes remove dead skin cells and skin will look and feel younger and smoother.

Rosemary-Chamomile Skin Freshener recipe
1 tablespoon dried rosemary
3 cups distilled water
3 tablespoons chamomile flowers

Boil for 15 minutes. Strain, then cool before using. Wipe the liquid over face with a fresh cotton square or spritz it on your face with a pump-type plastic or glass container. Let it remain for 30 minutes, then rinse with cool water and then pat dry.

This is very refreshing if kept in the refrigerator between uses.
